The specialists of the Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) shared the knowledge and information on the following issues: the aspects to consider during the registration of a domain name for email, website or e-shop, how to choose a server registrar, how to install a content management system and replace the information without the help of programmers, what is needed for a website or e-shop to get more visitors, represent a trademark, how to ensure that a website or e-shop is secure and easily accessible to its visitors. Start-up marketing expert dr. Donatas Jonikas enriched the program providing his insights relevant to young entrepreneurs and a representative of Klaipėda City Municipality introduced the financing possibilities for small and medium-sized businesses.

According to the Head of the Internet Service Centre DOMREG at KTU Daiva Tamulionienė, the business focused on operating and growth has to constantly search for new tools of communication and advertisement. Therefore, the centre wants to help business community to use .lt domain more efficiently by organising a free digital marketing workshop in cooperation with its partners.

“It is important for us to make sure the Lithuanian business avoids mistakes in the registration of domain names, has high-quality websites and e-shops that help to achieve their business goals, expand their share of the Lithuanian market and exports. We are particularly focused on small businesses that need to have representative websites and e-shops at minimal cost; therefore, we always invite them to our training and DIY workshops”, – states D. Tamulionienė.

Director of Klaipėda Science and Technology Park Roma Stubrienė notes that it is difficult to reach consumers without any online tools. Most of the businesses understand that and allocate the increasing amount of resources to their digital marketing.

“The use of the internet by various businesses is increasing; they move to the web-based environment and use it to present their goods or services, as well as for sales. Convenience, attractiveness, security – businesses have to consider many solutions relevant to modern consumers and constantly improve their competencies to enjoy their expected return. Small-sized businesses, creative industries that lack big resources required for the updates of their websites and e-shops face particularly big challenges. There is a significant number of the representatives of the latter segment at our Castle workshop and they were particularly active participants of this workshop, gaining the knowledge that will facilitate the growth of start-ups”, – says Director of Klaipėda Science and Technology Park R. Stubrienė.
