Check .lt domain
The seminar for the registrars organized by the Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) took place on 1 December 2022.
To combat cyber threats, especially lightning-fast fraud attacks, the Lithuanian National Cyber Security Centre under the Ministry of National Defence (NCSC) in cooperation with the Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) have developed a new free tool for residents and organisations – DNS Firewall.
“The 24th CENTR Security Workshop”, organised by the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries CENTR in cooperation with the Internet Service Centre at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) DOMREG, took place in Vilnius on 13 October 2022.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Lithuanian national domain since 1992 when the .lt domain was created online at the request of the University of Oslo with the support of the Government of Norway. The first domains mii.lt, ktu.lt, and vu.lt were registered in 1993.
The Internet Service Centre DOMREG at Kaunas University of Technology has organised the promotion game inviting to create .lt domain in 2022 June and win a prize.
Lithuanian national domain .lt turns 30 years old in 2022. Just as the University of Lithuania, founded in Kaunas in 1922, gave a boost to modern Lithuanian higher education institutions a century ago, the national .lt domain, established in 1992 and administered in Kaunas since 1994, has provided a solid foundation for the dynamic development of Lithuania’s digital economy. Now, the .lt domain is used by almost 225 thousand websites, e-shops, media portals and business and public information systems.
