Check .lt domain

What to do if your preferred domain name is reserved?

If it is indicated that your preferred domain name is reserved, it is likely due to the fact that the domain name contains the name of Lithuania – official long or short title of the Republic of Lithuania – “Republic of Lithuania” or “Lithuania” – in all official EU languages and all grammatical forms of these languages.

Persons can use the name of Lithuania in the names of the second level domains (in front of “.lt”) with a permission issued by the Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania (RRT), except when an individual permission is not required (when the name of Lithuania is used in the name, brand or design of the legal entity, and a requested domain name is fully consistent with the name, brand or design of the legal entity).

Information on the issue of permissions is available here. www.rrt.lt/telefono-rysys-internetas-tv/lietuvos-vardas-domenuose/

More information is available here. www.e-tar.lt/portal/lt/legalAct/TAR.E57DDE845DD2/TAIS_460249

If you have a permission issued by RRT or the document proving you do not need a permission to use the reserved label, send it to the administrator of .lt domain, who will enable a domain’s creation according to your submitted document.

However, if you think that a specific domain is reserved by mistake, apply to the administrator of .lt domain and submit your motives. Administrator of .lt domain removes the reservation if your request is justified and that domain name starts circulating freely within 24 hours. Domain with available name can be created under the general procedure by any person who submits a domain’s creation application via registrar.
